Representative Labor and Employment Matters


  • Successfully represented several clients defending class actions brought by the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.
  • Successfully represented a manufacturing client in a Multiemployer Pension Plan Amendments Act matter involving a large union central Pennsylvania multiemployer pension plan before the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit.
  • Represented an industrial construction contractor to defeat a union organization attempt of rallying workers under the new NLRB “quickie election” rules. In one of the first elections in this region under these new rules, Spruce Law successfully achieved a NO vote in favor of its client without any unfair labor practice charge or post-election objection.
  • Successfully defended multiple clients in federal court jury trials involving discrimination claims.
  • Obtained or defeated injunctions in non-competition cases involving claims of violations of employee non-competition agreements as well as asserted companion common law non-competition claims.
  • Successfully counseled and assisted a regional construction industry client in locking out a union workforce resulting from collective bargaining impasse.
  • Assisted multiple clients in various industries with audits conducted by the United States Department of Labor, Wage and Hour division.
